what do I use for ms3d files?
« on: December 29, 2007, 07:52:10 PM »
I thought ms3d could be opened by either max or 3dexploration.
I just realised something. I've released over 300 fully modded ships for bridge commander. Bow to your master :D

No as billz pointed out it only opens in milkshape. if you convert it to 3ds in ms3d then you can open it in max.

No, no, it can't really be opened in anything other than MS3D. Sadly, I don't really know of any app that'll import *.MS3D files, either. As already suggested, try exporting the MS3D file to a file compatible with whatever other app your using. Say, *.3ds, foir example, so you can open it in max.

Best of luck with... whatever you're doing. :P

Oh, I see. You don't have Milkshape, then, I'm assuming?

If not, them maybe you can hunt down an import/export plugin for something you DO have on google, but otherwise, I'm not sure what you can do. Sorry bud.

Or get a milkshape owner to change it's format for you.

I use Milkshape for Legacy, because there is no MAX exporter for M3D. I could export it to 3ds or whatever you need!

I talked to starforce and maybe you will get a few other Legacy ships to BC soon. Like this Vidian destroyer (I believe it is one  ). It has been modeled and textured by chrisluskey and shadowbuilder.
This shall be a little "thank you" for letting us port so many ships from BC!
