First Contact Sovereign Bridge
« on: March 15, 2008, 08:42:17 AM »
Hi,
I just made my first BC Bridge retexture. I changed the Nemesis LCARS Animations into the ones seen in "The first Contact". Therefore i used the nemesis sovereign bridge.
The LCARS Animations are in a very high resolution and i think its quite ok for the first bridge but i would like to change the panels at the different stations also in the first contact style.
Unfortunately i didn't found the file, they are located in, so i was not able to change them.
Can anybody give me an advice?

Here are some screenshots:

If it's supposed to be First Contact, then you'll have to throw an MSD behind the captain's chair. Additionally, all the LCARS displays are kinda... huge... :/ like each button would be the size of a guy's head. You've got the right idea, no doubt, it's just that the LCARS are massive, and could be resized to fit multiple displays on each panel, and you're going to at least need an MSD behind the captain's chair to keep it somewhat cannon.

Otherwise, it's kinda cool. :)

First of all, thank you for your response.
Then: What's a MSD?

And, yes the animations are very big and i like it  :), but you are right, it does not look very canon. So, i will try to resize them.
Ah, i've got an idea^^. Is a MSD the Master Situation display?
If yes, that's what i'm going to do first, but i did not found sth. that fits yet. all these things are blue :x
So, if you have an idea, it would be great^^

First, you have done nice work so far!

First of all, thank you for your response.
Then: What's a MSD?

An example for the MSD is this one:
"Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former." - Albert Einstein (1879-1955)

Yes, an MSD is a Master Situation Display, as renger's example illustrates. Maybe use that? I'm not sure whose it is, though...

In any event, if you're wanting to make this canon, perhaps snag some screenies from the movie for reference materials. For canon stuff, it's usually best to have as much reference material as possible.

the colours are good and the quality of lcars seem fine however they are layed out incorrectly. Each one of those displays you currently have fitting an entire panel should fit within a frame like the original textures had:

Additionally you seem to have replaced the control pads (buttons and controls) with more displays, the crew need something to type with! :P

So its a good start but I think you need to spend a bit longer looking at reference.

you still need to change those lists on the bottom into some sort of control panel, also, is that a Galaxy class warp core?, shouldn't it be a sovereign core? otherwise, good job

That looks a heck of a lot more like a Galaxy warp core than that of a Sovereign. ;)

Well the deck 42 gives it away that it is a Galaxy LOL.  I'd change it to like Deck 16 (where Engineering is on a Sovereign I have no recollection, but it was probably explained in one of the movies) or something like that, then make the bottom half red.  not everyone's gonna notice :)
