U.S.S DAVID
« on: April 16, 2008, 11:12:32 AM »
I was browsing the internet yesterday and came across a nice TNG Oberth design that i thought i could build myself, I belive the modifications to the original oberth where done by Medjai

So Today I have started to build my own version, using his ideas as a point of reference for the build.

Scale I was thinking slighly larger, at 160m

Armourments - will be upscaled but not overly

MutiVector - it will have the ability, tactical purposes asside, once in location, the ship can divide into two in order to speed up the work, whether it be scientific or medical etc.

WIP...

Thanks for the support fellas.

Yeah I agree, in a science role, the ship breaking up into two to scan seperate asteroids and moons etc.. seems like a quality idea, and medically, splitting up and searching a system for survivors etc.. its quite original, but will have a familiar face.

Of course, the poly count currently sits at 2800. Im going to keep her detailed, but keep the poly limit under 10,000k if possible.

Oh.. and its called David after Kirks son who died in STIII The Search For Spock.
Im thinking of changing the class name to Reobirth or something or mabey i'll leave it but im open to suggestions.

How about "Hipocrates Class", named after the Hippocratic Oath that all physicians make.

I suggest the Britannic class after the HMHS Brittanic. Maybe other ships in the class could be named after other hospital ships and famous medical personnel and scientists.

Great idea about the seperation and keep up the good work. BC needs more science vessels. :D

I would suggest calling it straight out "David Marcus" because just calling it "David" leaves interpretation wide open.  Or even just USS Marcus as an homage to both David and Carol Marcus.  Genesis may have been a failure, but that doesn't change  the fact that they were accomplished scientists.

that would be better for a didicated medical ship like an olympic.
I just realised something. I've released over 300 fully modded ships for bridge commander. Bow to your master :D

Jericho. I'm thoroughly impressed; Such a low poly count, though I'm already seeing quite a fair bit of detail here. Great work, and superb ideas. I'm really looking forward to future updates.
