As it says in the thread title..

Im going to stick with the science / medical ship idea but go a little smaller..

so throw all your ideas and suggestions in here.. it will be based on the u.s.s. raven seen in voyager

i already have the insignia badge thing and a name... the name came from the ideas given on the oberth..

-definately MVAM capabilty...
-both parts need warp capability
-including a new medical shuttle
-more streamline than the raven

Lol.. i love those ideas... how would you incorpirate warp capability to so many parts of a small ship though...

maximum of 6 decks here i reckon.. 2 cores??

thanks

You could borrow from Aeries' idea.  Split the nacelles when the ship separates, the same with the core.

The prommie has a single segmented core that splits into three when it MVAMs so yes its canon.
All hail the messiah!

Thanks..

so then splitting a core is cannon...  so its phesable that as long as a core fits then it splits and i like that  8)

not sure on the dividing necelles though...

but lets run with what we have...    modern medical shippy and science.. armaments?

Actually the Prommie has two cores, the horizontal one splits along the separation point, while the vertical one lives in the upper saucer section.

Edit: sorry for being a pedant. ;)

MVAM capability: Dump a sort of 'container' hull compartment at the stardrive section in case of quarantaining the content or temporarily dumping the container for safeties sake. Said container could have a small command bridge and limited impulse engines to example given enter an atmosphere or get out of harms range.

Why give it impulse? The explosive ejection mechanisms are intended to allow it to clear a ship.

MVAM sounds gd and maybe to solve the problem of warp naccelles have them split into 2 on both sides, so when the ship is 1 the naccelles look as 1 on both sides then when the ship splits they become to 2 on bith sides

MVAM is overused. A small ship like that could instead be outfitted with a delta flyer or concept flyer (such as one of the sternbach concepts or runabouts). Or a separation vessel such as an aeroshuttle or captains yacht type thing that mounts to the exterior when not in use, perhaps with an exposed phaser that fires as a normal one when attached.
I just realised something. I've released over 300 fully modded ships for bridge commander. Bow to your master :D

Overused?  There's the Prometheus and the Galaxy EVO Titan that LC did.  That's it as far as my memory goes.  Exactly how is MVAM overused?

I can probably name at least a dozen ships released in the last couple years that use it

@ ACES_HIGH: MVAM like the Prometheus, or MVAM as in saucer separation, warp power up?

Of any kind I'd say.

A ship the size of the Raven being seoaration-capable? I dunno... seems kinda iffy to me... in any case...

1- Basic shape of the original Raven, but streamlined, as already mentioned.
2- Similar torpedo grooves to the Defiant class... you know, how there are those pod-like things on either side that seem to house the launchers? Something like that...
3- New shuttles! We're really lacking in new-era shuttles at the moment.
4- I don't personally agree with MVAM on a ship so small as the Raven, especially given the overall design... it just doesn't flow in my mind like it did with the USS David; On a similar idea, have the nacelles inset into the hull. When they'd want to jump to warp, the nacelles would then "pop out" of the hull in a similar fashion to  Zepheram Cochrane's (sp) warp ship... I saw a sketch of something like what i'm thinking elsewhere, but I dont remember where I saw it for the life of me... 'twas a long time ago, but it was a really cool ship...
5- minimal weapons; SMALL phaser strips, kinda like the little things that shuttles have... just short little strips here and there. I'm not even sure that a medical ship like this should even have torpedo bays, but that's entirely up to you, I guess... maybe instead of torpedos, just have some pulse phaser batteries like the Defiant.

good luck.
-Aeries.

I disagree, how is the ship going to launch probes then? Other than that, I agree with everyone else's statements.
