My First Ship using Google sketchup
« on: October 21, 2009, 05:19:42 PM »
This is my First attempt to build a ship from scratch using Google sketchup, believe it or not this did not take long maybe 45 minutes, sketchup allows me to use my wacom tablet like a cad system and literally "draw" shapes into 3d objects, i am trying a Akyazi first, i'm going to try one with TOS nacelles also, modify them and texture it after. The only thing i need to locate after to port it into BC is the 3ds explorter plug-in, i already know how milkshape exports from there, maybe someone can help me Rig the hardpoints if i have trouble getting it BC ready.

that's Ships of the StarFleet, it's that book I was telling you about in the other thread, it was a fan produced series of tech manuals from the 80s, set during the movie era.  They used to be sold at conventions, but they're extremely hard to find nowadays because Paramount gave the publisher a C&D.  I managed to pick up the set at a used book store.  The Akyazi class comes from one of these books.
