BC won't launch in test mode.
« on: June 19, 2008, 03:46:53 PM »
This is the command line I'm using.  I'd like to get into edit mode to do some screenies, but I can't even get into Test Mode.  Is this the wrong command line?

"C:\Program Files\Activision\Bridge Commander\stbc.exe" -TestMode

and to open the console should be the "`" (tilde) key, right?  Would the fact that I'm using Vista affect it?

Yes, that is the correct key.

And nope, because I too use Vista, and it works fine for me.

What keyboard layout are you using?

It's possible it's a multiply key (you ought to have 2 of them).
This is the case for non US, non UK, keyboards, and considering Cananda uses part English, part French, I don't see it beyond the posibility that you are using a French keyboard.
I still can't read peoples minds, nor can I read peoples computers, even worse, I can't combine the two to read what is going wrong with your BC install...

I have it set to US English layout, and still nothing.  In fact, when I run in TestMode, the game crashes if I try to enter QB mode.  Also, the console does not appear in the main menu.  It should, shouldn't it?

You should be able to open it.

Have you tried deleting your keybindings?
Via deleting scripts/KeyboardBinding.py(c)

You aren't the only one to suddenly(?) get this problem.

Yeah, I did delete the keybindings, as I'd ran a search for this problem prior to posting, and noticed you mentioned that to someone else.  Sorry, I should have mentioned that earlier.

edit***

found the answer in this thread.  used the options menu to rebind the console key.

Lol, I had the same problem. I just remapped the key to "]" and it works fine.
