Missing ships
« on: September 10, 2008, 06:51:37 PM »
I installed 2 ship mods; the constitution (tcmpv 1.0) pack and the refit constitution pack (TMP_constitution_pack) after installing the second the production tos enterprise (from the tcmpv pack) turns into the refit enterprise under the TOS sub menu (and I cant use it in game) since these are both under the constitution sub menu. I know there is some kind of conflict yet I cant seem to fix it or find it. Does anyone know how to fix this and could let me know

Could you put up links to the mods?

This can be solved, but it requries a bit of changing in the plugins (just adding a space to the end of the name on one of the ships).
I still can't read peoples minds, nor can I read peoples computers, even worse, I can't combine the two to read what is going wrong with your BC install...

The motion picture pack is located here:
http://bridgecommander.filefront.com/file/TMP_Pack_Of_Constitutions;80188

The TOS pack is located here:
http://bridgecommander.filefront.com/file/TOS_Canon_Mod_Pack_TCMP;89586

These are the two files that are in conflict due to the enterprise in both packs. Ive tried adding a different name in the pyc file under the name category but have had no luck. Any help is greatly appreciated thanks.

I think this is the ship. Put the attached file in scripts/Custom/Ships and see if that works.

If it didn't work, then please provide the exact screenname for the ship (or ships) that went missing.

some ships do not contain their own plugins, and as such dont automatically show up in the menu list...
if you use BCSMC, that will generate plugins for you :)

They have their own plugins.
It's that there are multiple ship with the same name.

Essex you said?

Attached.
Any more?

What I did was I added a space to both the longname and the abbrev, and removed 3 lines that would have caused a BSOD now, and weren't vital (did nothing) anyway.
