Aimless project.
« on: September 23, 2008, 10:53:30 PM »
Totally open to suggestion here.  I haven't a clue what to do but I want to do something.  Could someone do up a super quick sketch for late tng/nemesis era saucer section?  Your idea will be credited in any released mod.  Please no full ship suggestions though.  I want to try and harness the immediate creativity that is on the tip of your brains right this instant. :D

Here's what I'm thinking...

Mid-sized cruiser.
Heavy looking, strong appearance.
Reasonably traditional in design cues.

I know you said you don't want whole ship ideas, so please, please forgive me... but personally I would LOVE to see what you (the best of the best) could do with a Sovereign class.  If you are truly bored that is :)  The CG is awesome, but getting on in years.. and if you could revamp it like you did with the Galaxy..well.. ;)

Sorry.. carry on with the thread. My bad.

Perhaps, given DJ Curtis's expertise on making great looking late 24th, early 25th century style ships, he could make a proper evolution of a TNG-era ship, such as the Sovereign or Galaxy Class.

I love the Galaxy Class as much as everyone else, but I'll say what everyone else will probably say, when you evolve the Galaxy class, it turns really really ugly.

I personally feel that the Century Class already is in some ways an evolved Sovereign Class... once again, just in some ways.

Yes, a new Sovereign would be nice, but I still feel that CG's is totally awesome and completely satisfied with it as an exceptional example of the Sovvy.

With DJ's superb skills, a completely new ship would be fantastic.

yeah we've seen evolved Defiant (Valiant), Sovereign (IMO Century class) now it would be cool if you make galaxy evo, combine LC's Galaxy Evo saucer retractable nacelles and secondary hull moving nacelles with WZ's Mnemosyne overall style and some Century/original galaxy class accents + your clean and crisp texturing ;) I'd love to see such ship it would be the best Galaxy Evo ever :D

Many, many moons ago, Atolm had drawn up a pretty damned sexy U.S.S. Titan, that I don't think was ever really built.  I do remember he had drawn up some nicely detailed orthos.  She's got nice curves and great qualities.  I don't know where the images are of what he had drawn.  Maybe you could ask Atolm for his permission to build the ship, and also ask if he's still got the images of the ship.

was that the one with the long ventral fin shaped hull? If so I have the prelim model of it. Someone did a cgi of it as well.
I just realised something. I've released over 300 fully modded ships for bridge commander. Bow to your master :D

To me the Century is a Sovereign Evolution, while the Supremus and Jutland were made during Sovereigns era.

Ran across a thread on Scifi-Meshes concerning Atolm's Titan Class.  SF, I think this is the one you were also thinking about.

I'd love to see this model done by DJ.
