Yep. And I have all the reference available- even 3d views of the upcoming resin kit.  I always thought it was a nice ship combining the Excelsior and Galaxy class.

I Agree. The Proto-Ambassador was a very interesting looking ship. It's too bad we never got to see it onscreen. Until it's made by you that is :)

Ooh. The Prambassador ( :P).

I'd heard of this one but never found any ref pictures of it. I'll be keeping my eye on it.
Can't wait for 2014 to start.

It could be argued its a PDW Ambassador refit...cos thats what it looks like! :D

Hmm....post dominion war...makes sense.  Ships tend to get a bit more streamlined in the future.

I only say it because it reminds me of Doc McCoy's PDW Excelsior. I suppose if you wre to make it PDW, then you might want to change the nacelles...but its your project. :D

I'd say, if you call it a refit Ambassador, it doesn't necessarily need to have "Sovereign-esque" nacelles. Not all refits necessarily mean extensive external reconfiguration. Stuff like power systems, shield generators, torpedo tubes/management etc, are all internal and not visible from the outside. It can be a refitted Ambassador, but still keep some of the stuff externally, which is reminiscent of the Ambassador. After all, it already has certain elements of the Excelsior in it.

If I were to do 2 seperate versions, I would keep the same upgrades similar to the existing Ambassador class.  For the refit- maybe add something under the shuttle bay, and tweak the bussard area.

Neat!  See, this is what I wanted to see from you Wiley.  No offense to your JJ-ships, of course, the new Enterprise looks fantastic despite all the little nitpicks.  But the way I see it, the only way to get a perfect JJPrise is for the movie to come out, for Intel to update their site with the Enterprise, and for the schematics to be published.  Wiley, you have done the community proud by even attempting to model a ship that has very limited reference material.  Heck, the mere fact that you did so before good reference was out is astounding.  You've done a fantastic job with her, but it is time to move on.  I really want to see how some of your other projects have been progressing(if at all).  Keep em coming Wiley, keep em coming.

I've changed the deflector and added some small details on the saucer and engineering hull as well as navigation lights.

No bussard fans this time around then?

I know its cannon to ref pics, but the blue bussards just seem outta place to me.

Otherwise,

Looks awesome as always.

Though they do exist on the actual ship from the movie, you can barely see them anyway, even on Richter's model.  I can still add that faint gridded covering.

EDIT: See image above for bussard grille additions.

Its your mod so its completely your choice.
Don't let others dictate to you what is accurate and what isn't.
Trust me when I say, that I can unintentionally get a bit obscessive when it comes to accuracy.

Its a personal flaw that I am working on trying to fix. Its haunted me through most of my life.  :(

Back on topic though,
Completely upto you what you do with the bussards.
