I imagine the torpedo would just zip over the top...maybe vibrate the ship a little but hey, wheres the fun if there is no turbulence?

Not to mention that the bigger nacelles presumably mean more armor.  Plus, I like the solution, cause otherwise the Saladin would be phasers only.

I can't really move the torpedo launcher, because it's actually part of the neck.  The torpedoes do clear the nacelle ingame. Also, the nacelle provides some protection.

Absolutely stunning.

I may have to make a custom texture for the bussard collectors, but it's absolutely stunning!

While the JJ Enterprise_v2 (in bcfiles terms) gets ready, hopefully, for a weekend release, the Proto-Ambassador gets a new bridge module as well as phaser arrays, torpedo tubes, and an impulse engine. The mesh is currently 12.1k polys and I have been removing unneeded polys all the way. I still have to add a ventral phaser array due to the lack of phaser coverage. Enjoy! 8)

I just looked back at the beginning of this thread, and..wow...my modeling skill definitely improved.

Nice, curious as to where you found the schematics, as all I could find were doodles by Probert. Have a cookie.

Nifty, keen, awesome.  Finally an Ambassador-class that I like.

Let's hope for that weekend release Wiley.  :P

And yes, your modeling skills have vastly improved.  Just looking at the work on the JJ-Prise and looking at some of your earlier work, eg. the Valkyrie, you've come a long way.  Enjoy a cookie. :)

I'm not so sure about that-

I also found a separate website that had the collection of all the in-progress pics from the probert designs site.

I would like to thank Limey for the great and easy tutorial of making phaser arrays. Wow....cookies flying my way left and right- Thanks! :D

I'm not exactly hooked on the position of the impulse engines...seems a bit too high up from the saucer. The rest is awesome!

I meant in a much nicer term that I didn't really like the position of the impulse engines. But schematics are schematics so theres no stopping them. :P

You know, I'm interested to see how the textures come out. I don't this would look good in Ambassador blues. Maybe a mix with the majority of it Galaxy grey?

I think the reason why the impulse engines are placed like that are to reflect the Excelsior impulse location and the Ent-A shape. The ship would probably be textured in gray-blues and not brightly colored like the actual Ambassador class. I also figured that the Proto-Amb. will have around 27 decks. It's nice to have a chart so when texturing, the decks will be evenly spaced.
