any modder has every full right to deny (or approve) usage of their works by anyone in any means...
that is absolutely their right and should be fully respected and not questioned or criticized no matter if someone disagrees...

that being said, i think it is best this thread stay ontopic about the mod KM-R, before it drifts off into a debate about what modders decide about their works...

thx :)

Agreed. And thanks for unlocking it for me. And sorry for the confusion Jimmy.

Anyways, lets get on topic with the next completed retexture. The Sovereign class. It's the CG Sov (Same one as in KM) but as you can see from the screenshots it looks a lot more canon. I've included comparison shots from Nemesis and also included shots of what it looked like before.

This one was done by CJ Larkin.

Btw, don't know if I mentioned it. But I thought that GC V2.0 was included in DQP but it turns out that it's just the same beta testers. So atm GC V2.0 won't be included. But Frontier did grant us permission to use V1.0 for the time being.

I hate to be an arse, but the outside rim color is all wrong if you are going for a nemesis style color scheme. Your screen caps really make it evident.

Indeed & i hate to be another arse, but the windows on the front are too big & looks like there are 2 missing but it is hard to tell from that reference shot if its aztechin or a blacked out window.

Did CJ retexture completely meaning not editing CG's existing ones?

Edit of CG's.

Edit: I have just noticed that the registry is a different colour. But anyways, does it still look good/better?

I preferred the first pics of CJ's sovie. The new one looks more like CG's.

Only those whose lives are brief can imagine that love is eternal. You should embrace that remarkable illusion. It may be the greatest gift your race has ever received."

I wouldn't say that it looked like CG's. It looks quite different that the bottom two pics (which are CG's).

Anyway, this isn't the place to debate what improvements need to be made. This thread is merly a showcase and updates. Please debate it at the CXP forums.

I just realised that i've not posted anything about the Aeries. Well, here you go.
This is the first completely new Model for KM:R So far. I present to you the USS Aeries!
She's a 25th Century Repair/Carrier ship, with a significant size advantage. Still a few mesh issues to be sorted (particularly with the Ringdrive) but she's well on her way.

Thanks Markyd :)
I've actually done a lot more since then, that's a slightly earlier render. I decided to re-do the ringdrive completely, and here's what I got:
BTW: Happy New Year!

Mate it looks real nice, personnaly if it was me, i would loose the lines below the bridge area as they can be textured in, love the forward observation lounge, and i am looking forward to seeing some texture work.

nice work..

You mean the "steps"? They're not lines, they're like a stepping "dome" of sorts. The blackness is merely shadows. Overkill?
