In those renders, the JJEnt looks more "TOS-ish". Impressive.

I just finished a custom registry on Adonis' Akyazi for Daystar's Fanfic, so I decided to render all the variants I've got for it now.

Thanks Aeries.

I've managed to convert the CG Sov model over to Blender, applied the textures but can't get the windows, engines etc to light up. Can anybody point me in the right direction please?

Get a decent 3D Modelling app? :P

What you need is the is all but the alpha channel of the _glow texture on the diffuse colour, the _spec map on the specular level and the alpha channel of the _glow on self illumination. I think the way to do that in Blender is on the "Map To" tab on the material panel. How to isolate (or ignore) the alpha channel though, I don't know.

Well if you have a decent 2d graphics program you can save the alpha channel as a separate texture if need be.

Being a Blender user myself, and having experimented redering ships in it, I may be able to help here. The way I acheived it was to put the standard texture on the material, but also have a duplicate where the 'Use Alpha' button is on in the 'Map Image' tab of the Texture Buttons menu. After, I went to the 'Map To' tab on the Materials menu and changed the texture's map to 'Emit'.
At this point, I'd make sure that on the 'Links and Pipeline' tab the 'Radio' button is on, and on the Render Scene menu, the Radiosity button is on. This should make for some fairly decent glows. The same method could also be adaped for the speculars as well.
Get a decent 3D Modelling app? :P
TBH, I find Blender very intuitive. Sure, it's not as powerful as Max, but its very good at what it does.

HA! Molto Bene!!

Thankyou guys!! :D

@Unknown, that worked great! Thankyou.

Here is what I have so far. Just one last question:
How to I flip the registry so that it is the right way round? Is there some way to do it in Blender or is that something I have to do in photoshop?

EDIT: Sorted. :) New picture added.

I tried recreating a PotD from awhile ago but I got a bit carried away and got this. :)

And now for something, completely different. :)
