Now to just include some enemy photons to make it seem like the camera is actually dodging them. :P Excellent stuff, phasers and quantums are brilliantly done, including sound syncing. Those phasers bare/bear (can never remember which one it is) a remarkable resemblance to how the Babylon 5 beam weapons were animated. Nicely done. :)
"To live on as we have is to leave behind joy, and love, and companionship, because we know it to be transitory, of the moment. We know it will turn to ash. Only those whose lives are brief can imagine that love is eternal. You should embrace that remarkable illusion. It may be the greatest gift your race has ever received."

The camera movement without any kind of reference like stars, planets, or other things requiring it to dance about is just nonsensical and tries to be too BSG/nu-trek like. Give the camera a real reason to have to shift about and a nice big nebula or something to give the mind a stationary point of reference. Otherwise, it will just look like the camera's shuttle pilot has some debilitating muscle disease.

Edit: Also, taper the phasers. They start small and end up wider, you see this in Bridge Commander all the time.

Edit 2: A well lit scene is a good scene. Dark and moody is good if it fits the theme, but in this case it is energetic and tense. Brighten it up, throw in some vivid colors (again, good time for some kind of nebula,) and try to avoid really dark shadows. (Yes this is space, yes it's not really realistic, but what looks good doesn't always look realistic. Try to find a good balance.)

Will keep all those tips in mind, Kirk. Thanks! BTW, stars are there, youtube was just being a meanie-face on the quality. I think Ill permanently switch over to Milky Way. That I think does better stars than just a noise map.

And thanks for the positive comments, Locke and Dalek :)

quote from BBC news:
"NASA captured yesterday a strange unindentified flying object, crossing around the Earth. The UFO has strange hull with not know technologies on board for nowadays. The interesting thing is, that after 15 minutes flying across the satelite and the ship spreading unknown kind of data, a transmission was received, showing that the crew of the ship are humans. Maybe visitors from the future..."

Haha!  You should put that up on ImageShack or something and post a link in the PotD thread for the original.  Bet they won't be cutting it up so bad anymore.  Seriously: what the frak is wrong with those people over there?  They have so little to say about truly exceptional work, other than "Ewww" and other such moron comments.

Oh, by the way Vlad: what DOES that middle pylon do?  Besides look nifty . . .

One from me, experimenting with lens flares to create torps. :)

The easiest torpedo effect are the quantum torpedoes from ST: Nemesis. They were pretty much tweaked lens flares.

Dalek, THIS is for you!

Ive been meaning to publicize my tutorials more, I think this is the perfect opportunity :D

EDIT: Something for the Homeworld 2 fans out there. The Bentus Model is from the game, and Peggy is by DJ Curtris. Im hoping for my next few renders to have better lighting.
