Looks good, although I would assume that a McKinley station wouldn't always be left alone like that. :P

A few more.
"To live on as we have is to leave behind joy, and love, and companionship, because we know it to be transitory, of the moment. We know it will turn to ash. Only those whose lives are brief can imagine that love is eternal. You should embrace that remarkable illusion. It may be the greatest gift your race has ever received."

every time we saw ES McKinley on TNG we only saw one drydock, same with San Francisco fleet yards in the movies, and they were both supposed to be parts of larger shipyard complexes.  But that's not the point; it's not meant as an exact representation of Utopia Planitia Fleet yards, it's a book cover.

I've done pictures of Utopia Planitia before, like this one:

Good concept...would have saved the Enterprise from having that "A" in the registry :P

The nebula itself I think looks a little too thin. Are you using atmospherics or texture maps for it? Id make it thicker, more dense, as if the ship is actually being covered in the stellar gases of the nebula.

The planet itself I think could also use a bit of work. Theres a very nice tutorial on creating ringed planets here: http://www.secondpicture.com/3d_tutorials.html

I also made a ringed planet tutorial on SFM a while back, though its a bit outdated. http://www.scifi-meshes.com/forums/showthread.php?63325-Making-Ringed-Planets-%28In-Detail%29-In-3ds-Max

Now, heres a sort of FTL effect inspired by BSG:

could you post a closer view of the effect?  From this distance, all you can see is the flash

hmm, I was kinda expecting the effect to be closer to how it is in battlestar, but I suppose it looks pretty close to it from a distance.

For this one I used the SFRD Stormcrow runabout and DJ's Galaxy, along with some flame effects from Daz3d
