A nebula or something else would make the shot too busy. Sometimes out there, there is just nothing but space. Also means the 2 ships can take up more space in the shot. :P

Think you could find a better Excelsior?  Maybe it looks good from a distance, but man is it hurting my eyes.

You managed to do this at work?  What do you do that allows you to waste time making 3d renders? :funny

Captain Garrett: Captain's log, supplemental. I hope something like this doesn't happen again...

Only problem with that Captain Rachel Garrett died in YE :P

I think this event occurred before Yesterday's Enterprise. The time anomaly could use a bit of refining.

As Wiley said, this was intended to take place before that. The torpedo-creates-rift happens for the Proto-Ambie, then it's going to happen to her at some point in the future. Hence, Bad Joke. :P

The time anomaly could use a bit of refining.

I did just sort of throw it together. Any refinement I tried doing just wouldn't behave the way I wanted it to so I decided to fling this up anyway.

You never fail to impress NX :D

Heres a video I created for my fan series (it may be a little while before it shows, it was originally private) :

yeah, the lighting in that one does seem rather unnatural.  All you really need to do is tilt the Earth a bit.  IIRC, the terminus should be at a 23.5 degrees angle to the axis, that one is almost 45 degrees

doh!  :picardfacepalm:

here's another attempt at photoshopping in beams
using Zorg Morpheus' Hideki and Wiley's Excelsior.

The only Photoshopping was the beams, the lens flare and a little blurring on the smoke trail,  the rest was rendered in Poser 8.
