Mixing things up a bit. The Upfront Stardestroyer alone took nearly 3 hours to render in max.

Preflight inspection:

I've been playing around with the textures of Sean Kennedy's old Danube runabouts.

edit: I was able to upload a better version.  Click image to see full res.

My love
Is wand'ring in star-flight
I know
He'll find in star-clustered reaches

I know
His journey ends never
His star trek
Will go on forever.
But tell him
While he wanders his starry sea
Remember, remember me."

wiley, im going to print that out on the industrial printer at work. it just looks that sick. (with permissions of course)

ill let you know how it turns out.

ANYWAY.

this is probably nothing new, but it is to me! :P
played around with VRays materials, trying to find a better way to set up more natural looking glows besides omni lights or post effects.. and this is what i got:

there are NO lights in the scene, the textures are eminating that glow.

the material behaves funky sometimes, and does not act like the standard materials do using alpha channels, by breaking those faces off and applying the VrayLight material, i was able to pull it off without editing my existing texture files.

i havnt been able to find a way to affect the lights decay, im only assuming that its controlled by how much light the object eminates.
this is also the start of a "CG" texture quality arsenal model.
I came, i saw, i added a Sig.
Later gents, i have Youtube to take over.
