If the UFP did have that type of sponsorship, I'm sure Mercedes would fix that Starboard Coupling problem in a heart beat.

There's a documentary featuring most of the TNG cast; it's either Patrick or Levar not sure who but in the documentary they stated that the writers always made the starboard power coupling go down in almost all combat situations. It's actually quite bad, it's like a Galaxy Class defect. :-/

hmmm not seeing it on eas, there is a thread on trekbbs that suggests its just a situation of tech the tech to the tech, and that the onsite person said the same thing everytime. otherwise looking it up on memory alpha power couplings are often used for phaser energy routing. they could be targeting the starboard for that reason?

i think what it is, the render has no AO. almost looks like he is using a fake AO setting that uses directional lightning instead of AO which would show shadow depth.
