Be kind! My first proper render, and I still have no clue as to what I did to get it

A balloon, camera and very long piece of string? :p

Looks great.

These sort of pic are always difficult to judge.  There is no ambient light in space and so things in shadow are almost always completely black.  (Not like on the moon where the lunar regolith is super reflective giving the Apollo Astronauts a nice soft appearance like on earth.)

Literally starships should always be harsh bright and shadowed objects but it doesn't make for good shots in BC most of the time.  In this case I like the darker tones because we're seeing mostly lighter and brighter reflective surfaces anyway.

In photography the rule is "your eye follows the brightest object" (generally called over-exposed) If we were seeing the Dark side of the constitution I'd take points away (unless done very uniquely allowing the visual focus to on the background, becoming artistic and well thought out). In this case the darker version seems more real.

Posted my two ships and bridge to sketchfab. Its a nifty tool. Not happy with it not reading the alpha channels of TGA files tho, i needed to convert my emission maps to jpeg, and then it took the color channel from those images as well. was annoying.

anyways here they are.

Oh, awesome. Is GM planning on releasing it in the future. Hope so. It's awesome.

As for you AndyP, I love the Tug, it's so good to have a TNG tug concept brought to life.
I feel like TNG, bc of budget constraints really didn't show us more TNG ships.
Thanks bro. Beautifully executed.
And the bridge is phenomenal.

The cardassian textures take away from the realism of the shot.
It may also be the ambient lighting...no shadows (or difference in lighting) really flattens an image.

Yes, i know what you mean. It seemed indeed there was wrong with the shadows and also with the ambient light. Here is the result from another try:

I'm just not sure about the phaser...

That phaser definitely needs some glow. The composition is nice, though.

Really nice.  I like the dull blue glow around the deflector.
