display problems
« on: March 16, 2009, 04:03:50 PM »
ok fellas heres the story:
i recently had to completely reinstall XP on my laptop,
the OEM disc didnt completely install the proper drivers, sound drivers, video controller etc.
i went to VIA. com to get the drivers for my video controller, installed them and now everytime i load ANYTHING in full screen, including BC, all i see is about 1/4 of the display, the rest is just black.
before i redid the OS, BC ran spotless in full screen, aside form a few memory shortages.
this is EXTREMEly frustrating because i really want to get BC running again.
heres the lowdown on the hardware for my laptop and whatnot:

VIA VN800 integrated chipset
Windows XP SP2
1280x768 hi res monitor.
S3TrayPlus Utility

i had the s3g utility on it prior to the reinstall but i cant seem to find it on their website, if anyones got any advice id greatly appreciate the help THANKS!!
I came, i saw, i added a Sig.
Later gents, i have Youtube to take over.

Try deleting your options.cfg.
I still can't read peoples minds, nor can I read peoples computers, even worse, I can't combine the two to read what is going wrong with your BC install...

Ok, good to know.

I was going to suggest a driver problem from that image, it would take quite a bit of work to get that through scripts.
