Is that the classic theme? :lostit:

Isn't that verbotten for aesthetic use in 2010 by a United Nations decree or something? :p

For some reason even with 6gigs of ram and 6gigs of page file im STILL getting errors about the windows theme screwing up while playing games... I got annoyed with it and switched to classic mode, but I still have gadgets  :)

don't need to switch to classic... could go with Win 7 basic...
Canon is what people argue exists on ships that don't exist.

You are just fishing for compliments aren't you? :P

At first I was: ZOMGWTF, a 6 core CPU, this is going to hurt.
But then I was: Mmm. Ok?

According to this: PCmark, Cinebench
My little i7 920 remains faster than any stock CPU that doesn't cost a thousand pounds. *cough980cough*
My primary interest is also rendering, which is where I expected any 6 core CPU to run circles around, however Cinebench also rendered faster???

And that's with the 4Ghz overcloak. I know that the computer is perfectly stable at 4.2 as well but I just happen to like round numbers.

Well my overclock is different because I had to lower some voltages and lower the FSB settings due to an overheating issue, im thinking my motherboard is defective, was reaching 127F(limit is 130F im told) on the northbridge at normal voltages and speeds, so if I wanna overclock it I have to lower the FSB and increase the CPU multiplier, but doing that also lowers the HT/NB speeds and ram speed, IF I could increase the FSB speed then im guessing the bench results would be higher..

I come to that conclusion about the motherboard being defective only because I know someone thats overclocking the living crap out of the same motherboard I have(2800NB clock/2500HT clock, and some ungodly 350ish FSB) but his motherboard NB is still steady at 113F...

I dont feel like taking the motherboard BACK OUT to take off the heat pipe heat sinks , apply thermal paste and put everything back on tighter, ill do it eventually..

Currently I have it back down to 3.5ghz, everything else the same, it still gets a 6.0ish Cinebench score, im also actually thinking about going back to a socket AM2+ motherboard that can run this same CPU with a BIOS update..

See I just went back to the stock speeds of:

CPU: 3.2ghz
NB/HT: 2.0ghz
RAM: 1600mhz

I get this result with passmark performance test(I highlighted the 1090T CPU average speeds of 3394mhz):

Senator got me going on a mad overclocking spree to see if I can best his 8328.4 passmark score... sadly I couldnt but damn close!

I barely won the Cinebench test though  :P

I cannot get it stable past this, wont work without a test failing... http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=1185272

PICS!, I added a DIrt2 bench in the mix, everything maxed at 1680x1050 2x AA in-game, catalyst control panel 8x AA,8x AF, everything else maxed..

and F8G BIOS update doesn't work. F7 was even better because before you restart your PC second time, the system works, but in F8G the PC died. After that replacing the Phenom 940 with Athlon 6000+ to return the F6. Hehe, I have forgotten how slow are the dual-core CPUs :D Now im with F6 and with Phenom 940 showed like (AMD Processor model unknown) :D

I went with these final clock speeds with the above Phenom II X6 1090T system^^:
CPU - 3.45GHZ
HT/NB - 2432.5MHZ
RAM - 1351.2MHZ(8-8-8-24-31-1T)

I also settled with 8gigs ram total..

Got Unigine Heaven benchmark( http://unigine.com/download/ ) results with my 1090T system above:

I also recorded a video in FULL 1080P of the Dragon Age game to show how smoothly it plays on the system:

I just did an "upgrade", where not a single spec changed!

Instead I went from this which I liked very much and is the best ATX case ever.
To this + a microATX motherboard.

CPU, GPU, RAM, HDs and the cooler were transferred as they were.

Result:
1 optical disk slot, except that I only have one anyway.
2 PCI-E and 1 PCI slots. But I only have 1 PCI-E card anyway.
Same Specs as before. Including the 4x4Ghz overclock, 6gb RAM and 5870.
Size: 288 x 217 x 370mm

Here's what I got In my new lappy that I got back In September of last year...

My Speccy Specs and Windows Score are posted below.

So far I have managed to run Mass Effect, Fallout 3, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Half-Life 2, Counter Strike: Source, and Sins Of A Solar Empire at 1280X720 at 30fps according to fraps. Except Sins and CS: Source which runs at native 1440x900 at 30fps, the rest of the have to be played with certain things on or off. For example:

Mass Effect:
AA off
AAA off
Ultra-High Textures on
Particle Effects on Low

Fallout 3:
AA and AAA off
Textures on High
Tree and grass LOD off

These don't really matter for me considering the FPS I'm getting.

And as you can see I am running 2 hard drives In my laptop, A friend of mine had me take off a panel on the back one day and we discovered a second SATA connection! So I have 2 Segate drives at 200 and 80GB. Woot!

Have a look at my website MeteorCreations

Holy thread resurrection Batman!

Got a new computer for my birthday so I thought I'd show it off a bit.  Nothing too fancy but still pretty decent compared to my old one.

I just upgraded a bit myself, my old MB died, so I had to replace it, which meant I needed new RAM and a new processor.  it's not all that different from what I had though, I went from a 3.0 Ghz dual core pentium-D to a tri-core AMD 3.1 Ghz CPU, and I replaced my existing 2gb of DDR2 RAM with 4gb or DDR3 RAM, not much else changed, I kept the old GF8500 GT GPU and 300 GB internal HDD.
