Torpedo Question

Is it possible to make a torpedo fly straight through a ship and still cause damage?

Using FTech, you could make a little torpedo tech that recreates a torp on the other side of a ship from a straight line of where it impacted. That way the original torp would hit, blow and damage, and the new one created on the other side would give the effect of it passing thru.
Kinda like the way phased torps work lol

That is, if there isn't any better way to do it.
