A rough guide to re-texture my JJEnterprise V3.
Things you will need: -
A paint program that supports TGA?s
Notepad.
BC-MOD (
http://bridgecommander.filefront.com/file/;10490)
First off unzip a fresh copy of the BCJJenterprisV3.rar in to new folder.
Open the blank Saucer_blank, SecondaryHull_blank and Nacelle_blank TGA?s from the High folder included in my ship?s files into you paint package.
Place your own name and registration on to the textures. Use the Enterprise textures for placement guide. Resave the files overwriting the Saucer_glow, Secondaryhull_glow and Nacelle_glow into the high folder. (Note: if you need low resolution textures resize to 512x512 and save them to the Low folder overwriting the original glow textures).
That is the easy bit done.
Open the data/models/ships/bcjjenterprisev3 folder.
Rename the NIF file from bcjjenterprisev3.nif to bcjj*enter new ship name here*.nif.
Go up one level data/models/ships/ and rename bcjjenterprisev3 to the same name as the NIF you just renamed.
Return to the root folder and open scripts\ships.
Rename the file bcjjenterisev3.py to that of the NIF (DO NOT CHANGE FILE EXTENSION TO NIF).
Open the PY in notepad.
Edit the follow lines of the script in red.
def GetShipStats():
kShipStats = {
"FilenameHigh": "data/Models/Ships/
bcjjenterprisev3/bcjjenterprisev3.nif",
"FilenameMed": "data/Models/Ships/
bcjjenterprisev3/bcjjenterprisev3.nif",
"FilenameLow": "data/Models/ships/
bcjjenterprisev3/bcjjenterprisev3.nif",
"Name": "
JJ Enterprisev3_baz1701",
CHANGE NOTHNG ELSE.
Save As and change file type from .TXT to *.* and save.
Open BC-MOD.
And create a plug-in.
Copy the plug-in PY file to scripts\Custom\Ships.
Return to the root directory and copy Data and Script folders into your Bridge Commander root directory.
Open Game and happy hunting.
If you need to tweak the textures you only have to open the textures in you paint package and resave them.
