Demoshoeld Installer Issues
« on: March 05, 2009, 05:44:50 PM »
Right, so I ordered Bridge Commander on amazon last week and got in the mail this Wednesday. So I popped the disk in, clicked install, the demoshield logo pops up for about three or four seconds, disappear and then nothing. I've googled to no end with no results, so I'm hoping somebody 'round here can lend me a hand.

Before you ask there's no error messages, the disk was in perfect condition, and every thing was packed airtight when it arrived.

You could try running the installer as administrator.
Open the disk through the explorer, and right click on setup.exe and you should see the option.
I still can't read peoples minds, nor can I read peoples computers, even worse, I can't combine the two to read what is going wrong with your BC install...

I get this issue whenever I install on my Laptop, which is running Vista Home Premium. Running as Administrator doesn't help for me, so I close all background processes linking to InstallShield, remove all Temp Files in App Data, then try again.

Here's to another 20 years!

Since I'm not as computer savvy as I'd like to be, I'm have a bit of trouble accessing the administrator account. Now there's only one account on my computer, and it's mine. My account is marked as an admin, so if I selected myself in "run as" it would be the same as running it as administrator, correct?

Also I'm sorry to be such a bother with this one but I'm clueless as to shutting down background operations =P

If you are using Vista, then there will/should be an extra option, even if you are an administrator. Usually the second one, "Run as Administrator" with the shield in front of it.

sorry to restart a dead topic, however due to computer issues I'm have to reinstall BC and I'm having the same damned problem. Last time after a day or so a notice popped up asking if I wanted to debug a program, and I said yes. All the sudden the BC installer booted up and everything ran just fine. doesn't seem to be doing anything this time around, so does anybody have any other ideas to share?

sometimes you just have to be patient and wait for it.

Hey guys,

My first ever-post here, but I signed up for this very problem.

Was getting frustrated, before I went into my system tray, and closed Steam and the Java console and it started working properly.

Maybe this will help someone.  My guess is that one of them (quite possibly Steam) was causing a DemoShield conflict.

Its not steam, I have searched far and wide for a solution. Running compatibly modes and as admin does nothing to solve the problem also various other things.  The only solution I found that works is to simply wait until it pops up, this could some times take 24+hours. This issue plaques me as well.

I've had this problem on Vista Home Premium 64 bit. If I restart the computer and then try to install, the install works fine.
