Maybe I should actually watch the first movie though, lol.

Giant virtual world. Bloodsports, Jeff Bridges and glowing clothes. Try and tell me that doesn't sound appealing?  :dance I must admit, the CGI Jeff looks great.

Think of it as "The Matrix" but properly set in a computer world instead of a corrupt virtual reality with kung-fu.

At least, that's the way I would describe the first Tron if I had actually watched all of it, lol.  :funny

I'm sorry for double posting, but seeing as how this is still on the first page of this section, and how a new topic hasn't been started for it, I thought it best to continue in this thread.

So. I saw Tron Legacy today. I am not very good at giving movie reviews, so it'll be basically a footnote.

4/10 from a consumer point of view.
The 3D wasn't worth paying out extra for as you only see it during the 2nd act of the film. 2D is probably just as good so you may feel cheated unless you see it at an IMAX. It does not beat Avatar in terms of 3D.

8/10 from a fan point of view.
You don't need to have seen the first movie to get this as there is enough provded backstory here, but it helps. The visuals were stunning. The Daft Punk soundtrack really fits. The story starts off well, but then devolves into a basic "stop the bad guy from taking over the world" deal, which made me feel like I was watching The Matrix again as in that, Agent Smith want's to find a way to enter the real world in order to conquer it.
Tron Legacy kept up a good pace, then slowed down for the various backstories in the middle, before picking up again for the end.
Can't wait for 2014 to start.
