Alpha Channels

Question:

How do you make a registry spotlight using Photoshop?

I know that when I open up a hull texture (for any given ship) and look at the channels, I see the alpha channel but when I try to apply a lighting effects spotlight filter on it, the option for lighting effects is grayed out. I can apply a spotlight filter to the RGB channel but once again, not to the alpha.

Thanks in advance  :D

that reminds me, if you still got that copy of Paintshop, can you figure out how to make those Spotlights for adding to ships on it?

There is no good way to do that. Like I said in the tutorial, the area you select will be turned into a white area in your alpha.
