I like the new nacelle design, but I think you should lighten the blue up a few shades. From a few screencaps I found, i'd put it at (if you use photoshop): Red: 65, Green: 150, Blue: 250 as the base colour. The blue you have seems a little too dark IMO.

Dude, use the color hex code, it's far more precise than the RGB value one (since for that, you need 3 more sets of values to represent the hex correctly).

Genty, what you could do is to go to the EFFiles site and use screencaps of the EF2 TOS Connie interiors as backdrops for the windows, would look a LOT better that way.

I've tried it with the new blue, and tbh I agree that it looks better. I've also redrawn part of the pennant as well. I'm getting my info for pennants here http://www.seryan.com/msfm/trekmarkings/trekmarkings.htm

Yes, but don't leave the blue hue on it, let the backdrops colors do the work, I have it like that on the Novi Sad, and the Connie and Miranda I did for STExcal, and that brings stuff out, the ship suddenly feels a LOT bigger since now you have the window interiors to judge size from ;)

I'm guessing you mean the windows, currently i'm consentrating on placements for marking etc. I'm actually doing them in max as it makes it easier to edit later on. I'll see about adding interiors to them and see how it looks later on.

I've not had much chance to work on this due to having a passport interview today. I've been playing around with the nacelle bussards and grills to come up with a low power mode for when the ship is at impulse. I thought about how the deflector was done on the Refit Connie and have done something along the same lines. I've also dimmed the bussards and given them a slightly cloudy look for the impulse mode. You can see both modes in the renders.

The bussard looks awesome, but for the grill I'd go for a more "golden" or "bronze" look than this yellow you have there ;)

I'm going to fine tune the colours later. I've got it set up in Max so I can easily render up new textures for them. Basically i'm using Max for most of the textures and then overlaying the aztec panelling over them at 1% opacity afterwards. It's making it much easier to do the textures than purely using photoshop.

thats some very good work. I think you need to lose the outline on the windows

I actually like having the outline on the windows, makes them stand out a bit more. I may change them to a dark grey to better blend in but I will be keeping them. I know they aren't outlined on the Connie (I actually have an MR Enterprise model which I can look at for markings etc) but it gives it more individuality.

with an outline they lack depth, it looks like someone just stuck them on there, you could try a  bevel..   :)   either way it still looks good

That is actually kind of the idea for them (being stuck on). They are meant to be flush with the hull and would just be painted on. I'm going to be trying Adonis' suggestion of using interior shots from the EF mod (need to find my EF disk first) on the windows which should give them all the depth they need.

The screenshots from EFFiles should suffice, I'm using them too. You have a TOS Connie interior mod (isn't the whole ship, only parts of it mind you) on EFFiles, exists for both games.

Thanks for the tip, i'll look into it.
I've been working on ways to improve the aztecs, I thought they looked too uniform before. This is what i've come up with so far for them.

You could add some to the two gray triangles on the saucer ventral, a bit lighter or darker version of that gray you used there too ;) You might go with the same panelling as the saucer ventral, or make it different.

There is actually some paneling on the triangles, they're just not showing up well in the render. I need to do some work on the spec map to get them to stand out more. I found a great way to do random paneling in Max. I'm considering putting something together to show how I did the saucer panels.

I've sorted the specs on the triangles and brightened them so they stand out better. I'll work on sorting out an example of that I did for the hull plating at some point, but to begin with you need Max, the Max greebles plugin and Photoshop or an equivalent program.
