Its been said that changing the shuttlebay radius is a viable solution to the "too big for our bay" problem which seems to be EXTREMELY common..especially for us KMed people.
Yup changing the shuttlebay radius is THE solution to that (at least for me)
Question...doesn't increasing a property radius also increase its probability to be hit and damaged or destroyed by incoming weapons fire?
True, but more logical than launching a X sized shuttle from a Shuttle bay of half that size.
Second, I tried the change the < to a > fix and it worked one time but then when I restarted the game..it didn't work any more.
Where exactly? I wouldn't touch the Docking scripts myself, especially not with something like that (To be able to dock a Sphere to a sabre but not a type 6 shuttle :wtf)
Lastly, I have tried reducing the shuttle hull diameter to numbers below 0 not negative numbers but like .01 or somethihg. I figured if I am right that would also make the shuttle harder to hit which would kinda make sense because its a small target.
I think the Script checks the actual model size, not the Hullproperty diameter, so setting that to zero doesn't help.
Oh and I've also tried to figure out what to slice out of returnshuttle.py (concentrating around the hull size and target hull size check)
As I said I wouldn't touch the docking scipt as it is working good as it is. The problem is that most Ships have too small Shuttlebay Radia. So Changing them instead is (depends on how many Ships have to checked) quicker, easier, and much saver.
Oh, most smaller Shuttles have a radius of < 0.1, the Danube has one of ca. 0.25.
