Nexus: The Jupiter Incident- Star Trek?
« on: May 10, 2010, 10:36:20 AM »
I have seen videos on Youtube of various mods for this game like BSG and Star Trek. I already know there is mod made by ChrisJonesGaming who also does stuff for Legacy and many mods are for online gaming for a server that is very hard to find. Has anyone played this game? Is there something like a quickbattle version of the game? Is it easy to mod?

#1: Not very easy to mod.

#2: Darkshimmer and the digital-Underground team (including myself), worked on a mod for the game a long time ago called "Age of War". I found the latest download on ModDB located here.

The reason IIRC that we quit modding the game, was because of certain limitations which we were unable to circumvent. Been a few years since I last had the game installed even. It's very nice looking, but as I said it has it's limitations. This, coupled with our on-and-off modding of Sins of a Solar Empire led to us not modding Nexus anymore. These days, we're completely in "modding retirement" as it were. Of the old team, i'm the only one who still visits the BCC forums AFAIK, and The Stress Puppy is around from time to time. Thou he's more involved in modding Sins, on the "Sacrifice of Angels 2" mod. There's a thread over at their forums (http://www.sinsofasolarempire.com) where you can find their development.

Yeah, SoasE is a beaut, long live the TEC! There are some amazing backdrops/starfields in that, specifically the one that sort of looks like a blue sky. Being reminded of that game gives me an idea, actually...

As for Nexus, I think I recall seeing it a while back in an EB. It looked alright iirc, though if memory serves, I picked up a Battlecruiser 3k pack instead.

...Probably not, but the number I get(379.6m) could be considered ?original intent,? a term that I think I will be using from now on, and ?canon? be damned.

I downloaded this game a while back and its actually pretty cool. I forget what Trek Mod I had but it was pretty good. I still like BC better though. But still Nexus is a nice change if you're looking for something different.
