BC in virtual PC
« on: May 17, 2010, 06:38:54 AM »
I have tried to get max 3.1 to work on my vista 64 PC as a back up to my aging laptop that tends to die when it gets to warm.

I have installed Virtual PC and have Win98 SE running happy with in the enviromet.

I have installed MAX 3.1 and it works fine but the nif export will not work without BC installed.

When I try to install from me CD it gets as far as copying the files from the CD and error messages at 0% saying it can not read something or other from the disk. I read on a forum to copy the whole CD to the HDD and try again from there. This worked and installed BC on to the Virtual PC (though it won't run due to a graphics issue) I check the virtual PC reg and BC is present in several places. Now when I try to export a nif from Max 3 I get a message saying BC is not installed.

Any ideas?

Use Sun VirtualBox lol. msvpc aint texactly the best hypervisor available. As far as the max issue, check and make sure it is pointed at ur bc directory.
