Work over the JJ Proxima - reestablished! Still much work to do. Ship's lenght - 760 meters (JJ Yorktown - 520 meters). The big windows on both of the ships create the feeling in you that you are on moving starbase! Still much more windows i have to make. Only 1/3 of the saucer's windows are made. The aft deflectors are transformed into shuttlebays! Screenshots below!

Everything is from the model. All of the textures are just several 128x128. There is no high resolution aztec with polar coordinates. I tried and it looks bad. When i have time I'll carry on with the windows, phasers and torpedoes. After that, I'll check for some fixes and maybe i will import the ship to BC. (I hate HPing, but Milen retired a month ago and only i know how the Proxima fights) :P
EDIT:
Expect the escape pods, registries and etc in 3D, not on mapped textures. That's why there is a chance for creating too detailed ship and the converting programs may crash.

Keep in mind that extra details such as bump mapping and modeled hull plating are not necessary for BC. If it is for your own personal renders, go right ahead. The hull plating itself looks too much like brick or shingles to a roof. Subtlety is key for the ship's exterior appearance.

I'd suggest toning down the hull paneling (quite a bit), and make use of the specular maps to generate a similar effect. Also, bumpmapping isn't required, since BC doesn't support it.

I'll see what I'll do. For now im making the ship for rendering inside 3ds max. If it's not to heavy enough, after that i'll start to make new materials and etc before exporting ;)
EDIT: Infact, the ship without the lightning is very ugly.

The ship is exported to NIF. 67 998 polies. I've exported with NifSkope and everything of the directories of the NIF is as it must be, but in MPE there are no mapping coordinates :X Please, can someone help me?

Dude, the poly cot is way too high, use textures instead of the model.

In MPE the Yorktown is visualised correctly. The end of the next week i will start to hardpoint the ship and in the meanwhile i'll try if the proxima is well rendered in game. If so you can expect two very high detail JJ ships for the New Year :)
The Yorktown is around 540 meters long and the Proxima is about 850 meters (don't judge by the size of the windows. I wanted to recreate some kind of starbase feeling!)

The model and textures are a bit outdated, but i'm happy to see that it's working. I have a BETA HP done and in future i will update. I will update and the model and textures!

serious over use of the checkered pattern on the hull, kinda makes it look bad, but other than that, it looks great.
I just realised something. I've released over 300 fully modded ships for bridge commander. Bow to your master :D
