Using MSI After Burner with Bridge Commander
« on: November 07, 2010, 12:38:03 PM »
I have two monitors, and when playing games I always keep my MSI Afterburner GUI up on the second so I can monitor my frame rates, gpu heat and gpu load. However I noticed with BC it doesn't seem to work, all values remain baseline and I get no FPS readout. WTM registers my CPU load, and my sidebar's gadget clock still runs so it's not simply image frozen, any thoughts on this? I'm running vista 64 bit.

odd...should be showing something, 'cause BC has a notorious mem leak.  could be the age of BC's engine, or its programming language.  let's see if Vladko shows up.

I don't see how that will really help but ok.

Vista home premium 64 bit, 3 gig Ram, Nvidia GTS 250 1 gb (driver 260.99), Intel core(2) duo e8400 3.00 ghz.

wow, dead board. Anyway, just additional info - it seems the numbers aren't all baseline as I thought. I get 0 fps reading (perhaps BC isn't able to relay that information?), but it records a roughly 2c degree increase (from 38c idle, to 40c) in temp, between 8-12% GPU usage, and about 350ish MB gpu memory usage (by far the least of any game, even A2 Fleet Ops shows a bigger draw). I'm not sure what to make of that really, almost as if BC is *barely* using my gcard at all. just idle with a few windows open atm I'm registering 2% gpu usage and 195 memory.

I'll try running GPUz at some point and see if that gives the same numbers.

350 mem draw explains a lot for us guys using older mem cards.

I'm less concerned about getting my fps then  I am in being sure my heat, load and draw values are being reported accurately.

Monitor flickering, distorting programs and processes and etc. On my second monitor I always place my facebook, skype and etc to track who wants to get in touch with me. Also I can add that BC always uses 25% of the cpu (if quad) and 50% (if dual). With, without load, always uses 25% of the cpu. I'm not sure if even BC worked on single core, but ,aybe not, because once reached 50% of cpu usage. But this isn't a problem which can make you worry about ;) So BC is running properly on your machine.

umm BC was released in 2002 there were no multi core processors then.

I know, but I'm saying that there is no problem. Everything is working fine except the compatibility issue between those 2 programs :P
