windows 7 questions-the start menu
« on: November 22, 2010, 06:33:16 PM »
I seem to have run into an issue where the start menu wont accept any more program shortcuts. On xp it would scroll if there was more than could fit on the screen. Can that be fixed?
I just realised something. I've released over 300 fully modded ships for bridge commander. Bow to your master :D

eh they should either start stacking over each other if they are the same program/folder or arrows should appear.

EDIT: nvm you mean pinned shortcuts?

yes, the icon ones. On xp it's scroll if there was more than could be on the screen. I even tried throwing a folder in there but it only makes a shortcut, leaving the folder on the stupid desktop. I Use to be able to put folders in. I even found the folder that controls pinned items and added things in there but they are not showing up. There must be an override somewhere that has a limit on the number you can put in there.

Make a folder stash all the icons/shortcuts you want in it then right click on the task bar, now click on toolbars then new toolbar. (search for the new folder select it and done)

the start menu wont allow you to increase the number of entries or add folders to it directly eh?

true. Maybe you can tell me how to get rid of these restore points for every folder. Not only has that got to accumulate a ton of useless garbage on the computer over time to slow it down, it's also a security risk.
