"Astronomy Picture of the Day" Application Installer Error
« on: January 05, 2011, 05:51:51 PM »
I'm having issues with the Installer for the Astronomy Picture of the Day desktop application. When in my Firefox 'Downloads' folder it keeps saying "Another installer is currently running. Please wait for it to complete and try again." I know for a fact there are no other installers running.

I tried moving it to my desktop, and running the installer again; this time I get a WinZip error message; "Error 0 running command SETUP.EXE"

I'm running Windows 7 64 Bit if that helps.
Did you know I'm on Twitter?

what version of it did you get... 2005 or 2008?

Didn't notice the 2008 one; but I just downloaded and tried; still no luck, this time I get:

The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you are Running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of this program, and then contact the software publisher.

Tried in compatability mode, was a long shot anyway; looks like I need a 64-bit version of APOD.

yup looks like it is a 32 bit program only.

btw does this program just dump pictures on your desktop background or does it do it in its own window?
