installing BC on labtop
« on: August 21, 2011, 11:35:26 PM »
I can't get the installer to run. Is it possible to simply transfer the game folder? I really only need the MPE. But I can't figure out why the installed engages, I click install, and poof, gone. I didn't have this problem on my tower system and that is win 7 as well.
I just realised something. I've released over 300 fully modded ships for bridge commander. Bow to your master :D

click on the setup file in the cd and wait a while... some times BC can be picky and take a while to start installing.
Canon is what people argue exists on ships that don't exist.

well it's been a while and I can watch the progy dissapear from process explorer. unless process explorer is killing it..I kinda now remember some issue where things don't rjun with that going for something.

edit" the program continues to quit despite several different compatability settings.

Just copy over the BC program folder from your install on your tower... I do it all the time and it works perfect.

Alternatively, you can do a fresh install of another instance of BC on your tower. Then when all is installed correctly (the way you want it), just copy over that new install to your laptop and it'll work. Or maybe I should say that it should work since I've done it quite a few times this way and it's always worked perfectly.

Good luck and hope this helps.
