Ok guys help me out my specs are basically CRAP how do i make some decent specs any and all help will be fantastic!

basic speculars are created via brightness/contrast adjustments then if you want you can set it to grayscale.

If your using photoshop couldn't you change the opacity or would that not work?

no, Killa.  specs don't work like thatI'm thinking the best bet would be to treat em like you would treat Bump maps with other games. 

one of the best speculars I've seen is on MarkyD's Atraiu

Go into Photoshop and "tone down" the contrast/brightness of the specular textures using either Brightness/Contrast or what I like using even more is Levels.
