WoW! :dance

Looking forward to finally exploring some unchartered space.I have not seen an active sci=fi simulation, that has space hazards to deal with besides an asteroid field.

Update 09/05/21

Still playing around with the Nif Model, but it's looking better.

Update 09/07/21

Interesting find...   :D

Update - 09/08/21

I was testing out the NiAlphaProperty and wanted to see this wormhole as a Black Color, without changing the original texture. What I produced was not expected. All I know is, if it does not have an "InsertName_spec.tga", then it will not glow like this.

The result is a normal.tga (somewhat hidden by the NiAlphaProperty), lit by the underlying glow of the spec map because of the Directional Light in the System1.py.

Does any of this make sense?  lol  :hithead:  :dance Check it out.

Update - 09/09/21

Okay...so I did this thing... bua ha ha ha ha ha ha  :dance  :dance  :dance

I may have to create a smaller Poly count model for that. Lol The one I'm using is 8 models of 15k polys. So...120k polys in total. There is nothing else in the system. Just that and a sun.  I'll try to cut that down significantly.   :dance

Anyhoo, what do you think of this one?
Ball of Lightning. Only 256 polys. 1 texture of 1024 but used many times. Will cut that down to 512 or 256 probably. Is 4 bolts of Lightning per texture.

Hey Cord,

That creation looks fighting! :P

But there may be easier was to make a ball of lightning.I have some simple ideas on the subject.

I'll shoot you a PM with a proposal. :D

My WIP, up to date.  Except a few secret models. :-P  Which will not be shown here.

Have to start packing this up, and get ready for Alpha Testing. lol This is going to be crazy. I am not done putting new models in the game. More is on the way and this will include some that will chase you, some will attack you, some might chase each other?...most are just for show.

The NIF 3.1 format...am not done exploring what this can really do. I have a few things planned but I expect them not to work, but if they do....   oooOOOOoOOoOooOooooOoo!   lol

I can't stop watching my own video. lolol  :dance

Edit:

Argh, I forgot the stringy shiny spiral thingies. lol

Edit - Part 2. The Ehjamakayshun.

Bua ha ha ha ha ha

Edit - Part 4. I forgot the last one.

Now, for my planet.nif model, I have added the following properties.
- NiWireFrameProperty (Currently turned off)
- NiSpecularProperty
- NiAlphaProperty
- NiMultiTextureProperty
        - 1st Map Added (Texture001_glow.tga)
        - 2nd Map Added (test.tga)

Looks pretty neat.  :yay:

Is that a Tholian web on Buahaha.jpg?

I remember this being a popular request 10-15 years ago and back then, it was stated that BC's engine couldn't handel it.

I think Klingon Academy's way of handling the web can be recreated in BC:
-Fire a beam at a target
-Let the sphere from Buahaha.jpg expand from the target's center/pivot point
-Bring the target to a dead stop

TaH pagh, Tah be.

It is not a Tholian Web.

I added a NiWireframeProperty in the Nif Model Format that allows the wireframe to be shown and its color can be affected by light. This can easily be done to any model ingame. As long as you know how to edit the nif format that way.

Edit:

This could probably be done that way, but I am not a scripter. I can copy and past and edit some numbers, but that's about it.

Edit - Part Deux

Below is a screenshot of my nifskope, as I am playing around with some of the functions that do work in BC.

And below that one, is what it looks like ingame.

Alpha Testing to Cordy's Playground has commenced. Moo ha ha ha ha  :Metal:  :dance

Hopefully he will post some pictures, or some comments...  :readme: lol
What you see, is not what you are getting. It's a WIP, I change stuff all the time.  :funny

I will be adding, perhaps 10 or so, more models. All depending on how many new ideas I want to try out. As some examples,

1 - The Badlands
2 - The NotSoBadLands
3 - The Deep Space 9 Wormhole, Exterior and Interior
4 - V'Ger
