Anyone got any ideas here?

Right so recently i got myself a new laptop, its a Lenovo G575 with windows 7 64-bit, and ive found out that if i hold down any key on the keyboard, it immobalizes my ability to move the mouse cursor untill i release the key again, this is getting very annoying when it comes to playing games like Half Life 2 which require you to both move the camera with the mouse and move around using the keyboard at the same time.

any advice/help you guys here can give me will be a great help to me.

have you tried using a real mouse instead of the touch pad?

no as i dont have a spare one i can use with the machine but i doubt that would make a difference from what ive read about this issue.

Got the same laptop as you Flare and a USB mouse makes all the difference.  :)

almost sounds like an option.... have you looked at the touchpad config menu at all?

Yeah, its by Synaptics, but theres no option/checkbox/anything about locking the touchpad when a key is held in.

its not speed, its a case of the download getting suspended every 12 or so hours and me having to resume it. my speed is around 2MB download...
