A new Olympic class model?
« on: March 18, 2012, 08:45:51 AM »
I know this is stepping into request territory, but has anyone thought about making a new Olympic class model? When I left in 08 MarkyD was talking about building one, but it appears not to have panned out.

It's one of the classic TNG ships and the only model on BCFiles is over a decade old.

we at SFRD (dang near the only shipyard left; everyone else has migrated to excalibur) have just been asked for ideas about a more Offense-capable hospital ship, so I think it's free-up.

as a matter of fact, I was recently asked by the Yard head about the possibility of a retex of the original, in which I politely informed him the textures were Baked on, and couldn't be fixed, and I was of the opinion that the model needed redone anyway.

feel free, it's well past needed

What tiQ said  :yay:
Though much is taken, much abides; and though
 We are not now that strength which in old days
 Moved earth and heaven; that which we are, we are;
 One equal temper of heroic hearts,
 Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
 To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

Its soooooo TMP/TLE it just doesn't feel as modern as it was suppose to be. I know given the future TNG ended up differently than what was portrayed in the movies and DS9/VOY. Maybe its just me

"If you build it, they will come." (A vague reference to a relatively known baseball movie from the 80s.) :)
