SFCIII
« on: March 21, 2012, 07:07:25 PM »
I've always wanted to try SFCIII...can anyone who played/plays the game recommend mods and the like for me? It's seeming like a dead community.
Though much is taken, much abides; and though
 We are not now that strength which in old days
 Moved earth and heaven; that which we are, we are;
 One equal temper of heroic hearts,
 Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
 To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

There's the Dominion War expansion available on SFCFiles.com, it's the best and most up to date mod pack ;)

I've played it with those mods :
http://starfleetcommand3.filefront.com/file/SFC3Rexpansion_2009;99832
http://starfleetcommand3.filefront.com/file/Generations_at_War;31876
http://starfleetcommand3.filefront.com/file/SFC3_Upgrade_Mod_231_allinone_version;113461

The last one is the newest (2010) and the best IMO

So it's not a good idea to add things on top of the mod pack?

IIRC, SFC3 is a pain to add individual ships to.  Not like BC's copy-paste.

Damn indeed! Good times with this game. I must say, i liked the concept behind the game (klingons and feds and the starbase) but it was poor designed the game. If i play the older ones, damn you really get that kirk feeling with the music, the torpedo sounds, explosions. These turn a smile on your face, but sfc3 didn't really. Cubes that turned suddenly towards left and right like a fed ship, the stupid limit of weapons on your ship (because of the warpcore stuff). Sometimes i had the feeling that my ship was able to carry much more but it couldn't because of the developers own vision. And the music really didn't gave that trek feeling what was a same.. If the battle music started, i had the feeling that knights on horses would appear and with the voice acting like OOOH MMMMYYY GOOOD!!! WE ARE NOT GONNA MAKE IT UUUUUH!! .. It was good that some mods appeared and a side from all of this, it is a good game! But you should try out the older ones too ;)
