New Desktop Speakers, Any Advice?
« on: March 28, 2012, 08:20:53 AM »
So, recently I've thought a lot about replacing my old Desktop Speakers with a new Stereo 2.0 System ( I don't have the place for a Subwoofer).
Judging from the Data-sheet and a showcase sample the Logitech X-140 sounds pretty good (at least with an mp3-player), but there seems to be a certain percentage of those have a constant high frequency noise.
So, has anyone an Advice which other Speakers are good?

Sorry man, I don't have any speaker advice but I am full of headphone advice  ;)

My brother highly recommends the Harman Kardon SoundSticks but they are rather dear (and oddly designed) and else my buddy has had good luck with some of the cheaper Yamaha models.
Though much is taken, much abides; and though

 Moved earth and heaven; that which we are, we are;
 One equal temper of heroic hearts,
 Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
 To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

Logitech is good enough unless you're an audiophile.

Bose all the way baby! Right now I have Bose speakers attacked to an Onkyo head unit. When I only have room for speakers on the desk I use Bose Media Mates.
