Excalibur | Art Month Updates
« on: April 03, 2012, 05:02:53 AM »
Hi everyone,

We released a few bits and bobs over the weekend which I think some of you guys might find interesting:

Ship Export Guide
This is the first public release of the manual which has been given to all ship artists. It explains the modelling and texturing standards which we are working to and gives additional details on how 3rd parties should expect when working with Excalibur.
Community Challenge
A quick video tutorial by yours truly demonstrating what detail maps are and how they can be put together within just a few minutes. This kicks off a public competition to see who can make the best detail maps within the month of April
Painting with Vectors
A time lapse video showing how vector paths can be used in Photoshop to create a highly detailed hull pattern. The video compresses hours into minutes and is backed by some of the music which has been prepared for Excalibur

I like the vector vid Mark, gives me an idea on a couple of things I'm working on :) (mostly texturing my luna once she's finished)
