Looks like you found one, lol.  My turn...

Hmm...

That Akira?  I'd hit it.  Aww yeah... ;)

With a spread of gravametric torpedoes?

I was just looking back over Doug Drexler's Akira Class blog post last night and think how frakking beautiful a ship it is! You're knocking this one out of the park, as per usual!

Perhaps my memory fails me, but, apart from appearing in some of the fleet shots in the CG cutscenes, what significance did the Akira have in Invasion? I realise it's a fighter carrier ship itself, and that's friggin' awesome, but is there another reason for you to be making it in this thread?

Klingon Academy now works on XP/Vista/Win 7 thanks to one dude's patches, click here for details. I highly recommend it!

The Akira was part of the larger response fleet, and was the first ship to get destroyed by Hurq Mothership.

Thanks for the link! That's going to really help me with the underside.

I remember that from the game...vaguely.  I was never very good at it...loved the designs, but without the cheat codes, I sucked. :P  And people tell Alex Jaeger that the Akira has too many torpedo launchers?  It needs that many to cover the fact that she has only three phaser arrays...

EDIT: Just put the game in for the first time in a while and took a look at the models.  Are you going to give the Nausicaan fighter a new design if you do it, or are you going to stick to the Dominion bugship flying backwards design?

Oh, no problem at all! I didn't really intend to post reference *cowers*, just to indicate the post I meant. Glad it was useful!

I haven't received that model just yet. Most/all of the ships shown in ST: Invasion will be getting a High-Res update, in both textures and mesh construction.

Almost done with the Akira. I cleaned up a ton of verticies in the saucer (left over from using the lathe tool). The final mesh would be in 10-15k poly range.
Enjoy!

Within the next few days, I'll be ramping up my participation in this team.  I've been off modding for a month while I worry about getting some  RL back in order.  Right now I'm actually getting my portion of the house into a usable state - in other words, getting my desktop set up once again.  I've been working off of a laptop the last several months and it just doesn't cut it.

I'm planning to tackle the Federation medical freighter and spacedock, as seen in the first post.  Stay tuned.

A question for the team members:  Should we get some form of communication structure between us that doesn't rely on BCC's PM system?  I prefer IM's myself.  I really like talking with fellow modders regarding creative and personal matters - as a believer of tabula rasa, I think us as people defines our work as well.

Might I suggest Skype as a possible form of communication? Can be used both for voice communication, video and texting (IMs).

It's Skype, not Livestream. It's mainly to talk to people of my group about the project.
