What the heck is this??
« on: June 04, 2012, 02:25:16 PM »
Has anyone ever encountered this phenomenon before? Check out the color of the nacelles in this pic. They're totally washed out but the rest of the ship is fine.

For some reason, this is how my Excelsior-A is showing up on-screen. All my other ships are just fine except for this one.

Anyone have a solution for this?

Thanks in advance!

Did you edit the targa file for the nacelle?  If it's alpha channel isn't saved right, that happens.

Not that I can remember.

I'll take another look at it but I'm pretty sure that's not it.

That one of main reasons, I can't edit many tgas [alpha channels]

if you used Irfanview to shrink or manipulate it it removes transparencies

OK, solved it. I used Photoshop Elements to manipulate the original .tga's and it messed up the alphas.

I brought the .tga's over to my other computer that has the full version of Photoshop and it worked perfectly.

Thanks again for all the advice!

I  use PSE for tgas all the time, I haven't had that problem, you probably saved it wrong or something.

Doesn't it need to be saved as a 32bit tga instead of 24?
All hail the messiah!

I know I saved it the right way. But 086gf hit the nail on the head. I should have used 'Save As' and then it would have given me the option to save it in 32bit instead of 24bit. For some reason, just selecting 'Save' was saving it in 24bit.

No problems though. I've now got it fixed and all is well  :yay:
