If you want to see it and you have the option, definitely see it at IMAX! Such an awesome experience.

No I've seen them all with the exception of the last one, I'm just tired of seeing movies about Batman.

Don't start watching James Bond.

mate and I watched it yesterday (holy crap, first movie I've seen in the theaters for a while).  neat little restaurant/theater down here.  he wanted to catch it before it got yanked off the shelves, so to speak (apparently, another nut misinterpreted it and started shooting, again)

nothing unusual here, other than the distinct nod to Occupy Wallstreet.  Bane's plot, however gives vibes of old fashioned communisim :P

Good movie, wife was in tears for the last 10 minutes.

Was not sure about the casting of Hathaway for catwoman, but like Heath Ledger in the Dark Knight I stand corrected.

Just goes to show you, take a good old American hero fill the cast with top British Actors and you've a hit. Makes a change from us being cast as the villian all the time, though Bane was played by a brit as well :dance. And this has started a trend with the other superheros too with Superman hailing from the British Isles and Spiderman growing up here.
Whatever knocks us back, can only make us stronger.

Forgot to mention before but the really wierd thing is that one of the previews shown(now removed) with DKR is American Gansters(1920's movie) and one of the scenes is of a shootout in a crowded theater so they will now be removing that scene from the movie itself.
All hail the messiah!

Just saw it today. What a great piece of Art. Gives you really something ro think at after you leave the cinema. Dont when i saw another film that was so dark. It was even darker than the previous movie "The Dark Knight".

HiveshipCommander, while I agree with you, I asked specifically that this subject be dropped.  This isn't the thread to discuss it, despite the fact that this movie was showing when this tragedy happened.  I will ask again please don't bring it up again, at least not in this thread!

I'd love to talk more about the movie, but I don't want to spoil it for people who haven't been able to see it yet.

All I can really say is that after seeing it once, I'm not quite sure of where I'd place it in the Nolan trilogy.  While it is, in my opinion, the more lighthearted of the three, it's still dark, dark, dark.  And as much as that's fitting for the character, I think it's time to give him a little more lighthearted tone.  Heck, I think it's time to ditch the black batsuit.  Arkham Asylum and Arkham City have the best batsuit ever shown, in my opinion.

And yes, that batsuit can be done in real life:

I can see a suit like that getting used in the Justice League film.

Finally saw it yesterday and I think its the best of the three. I had a feeling that we would get a ***** for this Batman series and I had a feeling that it was Blake the whole time. You just knew that there was going to be more to him than just being a cop.

I can't agree with you at all.  I have a hard time putting ANY of the Dark Knight trilogy above the others, but if I had to pick just one, it would likely be Batman Begins.  As much as I love The Dark Knight, it does have some reliance on the viewer having seen Batman Begins.  The Dark Knight Rises is even worse, there are so many story threads that are tied back to Batman Begins that if you just go into Rises without seeing either of the first two you will be completely and totally lost.

And no, Blake is not that.  At all.  Ever.  All that was was a pointless and idiotic name drop.

And I'll say this, I want the Batman series to be rebooted after this, but much later.  I think it's time to drop the always dark, gritty stuff.  You can have a dark movie without it being based entirely in realism and depression.  Look at the Keaton film.

And that's not to say that the Nolan-verse shouldn't continue, but I think it should be left to another medium at this point since...certain things happen in the movie.  It can continue in comics or an animated/cgi series, but I don't think it should continue on in film.

That's why it's called a trilogy. The movies are supposed to be connected and not stand on their own.

Not every trilogy is that way.  Most, yes, but there is one famous trilogy where every movie stands on its own.  Indiana Jones.

And my problem with Rises isn't so much that it ties in to the previous ones, it's that it ties a large amount back into the first movie.  If you haven't seen the first one, you'll be confused when R'as al Ghul's name comes up.  And yes, I realize this is nitpicking.
