I can't wait, but I should...I didn't wait to see The Avengers and ended up getting a really crappy seat on the front row.

Holy @#$% there were a dozen people killed and 59 more injured at Aurora, Co midnight showing! The guy popped up out of nowhere(some say already in the theater; others through the emergency exit) in the theater dressed in actual full on SWAT gear, gas mask and a trenchcoat to hide what he had. First he set off a gas bomb then started unloading on all of the movie-goers while they were still in their seats with an AR15, a shotgun, two 40 cal pistols and a knife. Oh my God the apparent first victum was a baby at point blank! Cops were already there doing crowd control outside but ofcourse they had to get through everyone trying to get out. They said he had his hair died red and was calling himself The Joker. The caught up to him at a car behind the theater then arrested him. Told the cops that he had a bomb in his car but actually didn't and that his appartment was bobby-trapped(very complex) which it was. He had just gotten his Bach. degree in neuroscience(could very much be relevent, you know an experiment since your mind does go crazy in this kind of situation and he wanted to know how it truely felt...very possible) then suddenly dropped out a month ago. Thing is how did he know which screen the movie was going to be shown at if he did come from the emergency exit? And where did he get the money to buy everything? Especially all the SWAT/riot gear since you can't just buy that stuff at any gun/surplus store. This is just crazy.

There are no words to describe how disgusting this bastard is. I can't and never want to imagine anything like that. May the families of the victims find comfort in some way.

Heard it here at camp.  Sad indeed.  I know we don't go into much religious discussion here, but I know I'm praying for the families. :(

Indeed.  What's annoying about this though is one NBC newscaster decided to drag Trekkies into this mess by calling this guy a "Dark Trekkie".  Thanks alot NBC, way to be insensitive to both the victims and people that had nothing to do with this psycho.  At least Warner Bros. and Nolan are showing some class, and I agree with Nolan's sentiments.  It's horrifying to think that all these people wanted to do was sit down and be entertained for a couple of hours, and this prick decides to come in and go on a rampage.  My thoughts go out to the families involved and I hope that this guy gets put either behind bars or in a padded cell.

I think this quote is somewhat appropriate for the situation:

"Words alone cannot convey the suffering. Words alone can not prevent what happened here from happening again. Beyond words lies experience; beyond experience lies truth. Make this truth your own."

The United States is probably the country with the most gun-related crimes in the world. Perhaps it's time to rethink your "Right to bare arms" from the 2nd Amendment? Obviously, if someone wants to kill another person with a weapon (any weapon), that person would find a way. But I'd like to think, that possibility would be severely decreased, if guns weren't so readily accessable.

Thing is, not having that wouldn't prevent it.  If someone was truly determined, they'd find a way, and by all accounts, this guy was more than determined.

Ok folks, while I am in shock as well as to what happened, can we please get back on the topic of the movie????

The film was amazing.

It's a great trilogy. They all have their own plots, and each has a very different feel to it.

Agreed, but I do have a few complaints towards the entire trilogy.  They're far too dark.  Yes, Batman IS a dark story, but there has to be some levity, some joy.  Also, they don't show Batman as he's supposed to be.  Batman is a detective first, punch-happy thug second.  And the plot twists can be seen a mile away.  Don't get me wrong, they're still good movies.  I just feel that they could be better.

The thing Nolan's movies suffer from - though they have an interesting story, and capture the dark essence - is that they're too "actiony", leaving out a good chunk of what makes Batman...well, Batman. It was partly why I (and I'm sure I'm not the only one) enjoyed the animated series from back in the 90s. Yeah, it was technically a "kids show", but it - in my opinion - was less of the punch-happy thug (as Shadowknight puts it) and more detective work.

Kids show it may be marketed as, but the animated series was excellent.  It was the best representation of Batman and everyone involved.

Again, nothing against the Nolan films.  I love all three of them.

Personally I'm extremely over all the Batman related movies, Hollywood needs to come up with new ideas instead of all the damn remakes, etc.

So you never want to see another Batman movie is what you're saying?

There's a big difference between remakes and different interpretations.  "Clash of the Titans" is a remake, needlessly trying to supplant a classic.  "Batman Begins" is not a remake.  It takes Batman down a road never traveled before.

No I've seen them all with the exception of the last one, I'm just tired of seeing movies about Batman.
