Candle's WIP's
« on: January 14, 2013, 04:35:31 AM »
Well before going complex I'm going to start with the basics again, and I've found some really awesome tools the second time learning gmax that makes things so much easier lol, such as Boolean i never used it before lol. But here is my current project, its in its simple state right now, I intend to add some detail to it as I go along of couse. I want to better tie our loved Deadalus in with ENT and TOS and make it seem like it should still fit in.

I know in the past I was making things to high poly and so given the small scale of this ship and the fact no one sits at 0km to engage a ship I decided to build it where it has shape but not to the point where its stressful to run. here is the non smoothed by Gmax look

so, we're talking a early TOS upgrade here?  someone dig up Gmunoz.  and Baz, I think you better keep an eye on this one as well, especially if he's a Boolean noob :p
there's plenty of people around here that have a lot of TOS under their belts, and can give some pointers.

Me: mine [my bridges] would probably be simple to get the characters to use.  the only person that sits is the captian.
Baz: space is vast there[sic] legs will be tired by the time they get to the next planet

now going to go watch and read some tutorials on smoothing it out and seeing if i can fix my mesh errors where the pylons meet the hull and the neck meets the saucer and round the neck. I hope i dont have to rebuild

also ill say it again this is not a connie

I've been absent again i know, but I'm retiring Gmax it isn't stable on Windows 8, so instead im tring to learn blender because 3ds max is to expensive. So expect more updates once ive figured out this Blender Program.
