No this is the official word.... all the times it has been stated before were from Overeager scientists who never confirmed the data and the media just rolled with it.

 :yay: This news made my father fall to his knees and cry ( he got me into Star Trek and hes an engineer ). He watched NASA launch Voyager 1 on September 5, 1977, when he was a Senior in High School. He never thought it would make it!
