Vortex' Concept Thread
« on: October 27, 2013, 07:41:50 AM »
I finally got around to trying to get some ideas out of my head. I figured I'd make this concept thread to post them and hopefully gather some feedback.

And with that, here's the first one:

No, just didn't want them to look to much like a brick.

And thankyou, the necks are working a little better than I thought they would.

Ooo, what's the Testor?

Here's another I've had in my head for a while. Not sure whether this'll be it's own class or a major refit of the Intrepid/Voyager. I also have an idea for the pylons coming almost flat of the spine, similar to Excelsior's, not had the time to model that version yet.

dunno why, but the second one reminds me of an update of the new orleans!

the Tesor was a kitbash I put together out of pieces of a daedalus for the purpose of figuring out 3d programs.  I shipped it over to baz to get his opinion, and we both plaed with it for a while.  it looked like your first project.  soon Hobbs and I were screwing with it, and it got launched with an improv hardpoint and texture, and became the testor.  named for both testing purposes and the Glue Brand.

Well, damnit! Killa managed to successfully inspire me and distract me from the Avenger's Initi- uh, project. (Hey, I gotta blame someone.)

Here's something that been in my head the last few days and started to get knocked together yesterday. She's designed to reflect/ tribute the Gal and Sov, and will most likely fit around the Generations time period. I started to build to scale, but then began eye-balling it. This particular mesh is intended as more of a concept model than a final product. The rim is 4m high, for those interested in working out a rough deck count. (I was aiming for 30, but it may come a little under that.)

Just having some trouble building the sides of the neck. May try to throw together a Galaxy to see if I can figure it out better.

EDIT: Oh, and her working name is Evenstar Class.
