BCS-TNG shutdown
« on: October 29, 2013, 03:23:07 PM »
This is not an easy announcement to make but the thing is that I've been delaying the inevitable for the past 2 years (more or less) and finally I've decided to shut down BCS-TNG around 20th of December this year. Before the site is shutdown now is your chance to download any mods you always wanted or back them up or whatever you had in mind. It was a good run.

Sorry to hear that, but like you say, it was a good run and I know you're busy with other things now.   Thanks for all your scripting help in days past when I needed it. Especially the early days  :)

I personally have no need to host anything from the old site\forums. Me and John (the one from Excalibur) will backup the database and the old site for posterity however. The only thing possibly which might be hosted for the rest of the community are the mods which I am hosting up on the BCS-TNG (this includes all of our and partner releases from over the years). This could possibly include a development build of DS9FX Xtended 1.1 which is not available anywhere except on bcs's site.

I find it sad that BCS-TNG will be gone soon. But well, I suppose that "all good things must come to an end".

It was fun working as beta tester with you guys all those years ago. :)

we have sooooo many great memories on that forum, such a fun couple of years and times to be cherished...  great friends were made there...  i am really sad to see it go
but to be honest, the place has died...  no one really goes there anymore, no one posts...  we tried a few times to give the Spam Forum some new life but it just didnt hold...  it was most definitley a fun ride - i remember when it was all first created (and that wasnt our first BCS forum actually), even when the teram was first forumed back in 2004/2005 or so, in BCU's oldschool days when BCU was at its prime as well...  those were the good ol' days...
perhaps now might be a good time to breathe some final life into the Spam Forums - if anyone wants to go over and jump in and go on a posting rampage, im sure others will follow!  let's go out with a bang!  the forums have been such a good home for us, we put alot of work into them - let's go and have one last good time :)

Well, we still have 7 days until the shutdown. I've backed up the whole site (whole 3 gigs of it), I kind of felt bad of loosing everything.

Without a doubt, BCS was my way into the community. I'm going to be 21, and I joined BCS when I was 15, definately a fantastic place to be. The Scripter Training Corp, the spam wars, shoutbox, and the general fun that was part of the site, will definately be missed. Some of the spam game threads are making their way to Ninth, in honour of BCS, plus we all need some spam in our lives!  :)

Mr Mario sir, major thanks for everything!  :salute3:

Haha, those were good times. That's why I took the time to backup everything last week. Just a few moments ago I've notified the host about cancellation of my subscription, so this is finally it.
