I'm far from experienced and I have a lot to learn.
But here's a planet I'm fairly satisfied with.

Hey, long time no post, for both this thread and myself. Sorry for bumping, but it's the kind of thread where users submit their own, so... yeah. A poster I did for my first module at Uni; a BSG Movie Poster (if only it could happen!)

Haven't posted a picture in a whilst but I thought this morning whilst bored i'l have a go at some pictures. Both ships are Wileys so credit is his for these shots of his ships. You've got a choice of two, Probert Ambassador with a shuttle going towards it and one of the Enterprise exploring something purple. Hope you like!  :D

Thats a rather nice bridge thier Mc, is it close to home?

Its purple: http://killabc.deviantart.com/#/d56r9vt

If I put it on Photobucket it compresses it and distorts it so get the real deal!

The Industrail Revolution isn't everyone's cup of tea. I was experiementing with what little photoshop I have on this machine to make the picture seem aged. Love your latest work by the way

One from me. Though, technically speaking, it was done in After Effects. :p

Annoyingly, PB has a ridiculous system of shrinking images. :(

Thankyou, very nice one yourself. I guess it depends on what you're used to. I find After Effects to be a great product. Having used it more than I use Photoshop, I find myself being able to work it far easier as I know it better and can more or less tell what tools I could use for an effect. For example, I know that I could use the CC Sphere effect on a flat map of the Earth to wrap the image in a sphere, then do the same with the clouds, make it a slightly larger sphere and use the transparency settings to add depth. I wouldn't have a clue how to go about that in Photoshop.

For the shot I did, After Effects is quite adequate. However, if I wanted a much closer, more detailed shot I'd have to use a 3D program, such as Blender. Fortunately, there are a few good websites with plenty of tutorials to help learn the programs.

Just signed up to ImageShack so hopefully know you can see the image full size: http://img838.imageshack.us/img838/2725/earthtt.jpg (http://img838.imageshack.us/img838/2725/earthtt.jpg)
